I’m looking forward to this Friday for two reasons…

1. My wife’s 36th birthday!
2. I’m taking the family to see Captain America: The First Avenger!

Now, I haven’t supported this movie all along, it just recently won me over on Monday when the after trailer teaser for The Avengers leaked.
I don’t know why, but seeing that clip; seeing where every Marvel Studio movie is leading to really fired me up. I want to take every one – Iron Man 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America, play them back-to-back and see the bigger picture. I must admit, it’s impressive, Marvel Studios has accomplished in cinema what was only thought of in comic books.

I want to make one very BIG point here, I do not consider Marvel Studios the same as Marvel Comics…

Marvel Studio – GOOD!
Marvel Comics – BAD!

Marvel Studios, and most studios handling Marvel IP, manage to convey the original ideas of each character, and their story, and modernize, without shitting on them. It’s a trick the writers and editors of Marvel Comics haven’t mastered, or even attempt to learn.

So, don’t call me a hypocrite because I like the films, and I stick to my guns that they should have kept the classic suit. But, if you look at the trailer for the Avengers (if you can still find it) I think we may get Cap in the classic suit after all.
